QUALITY REPAIR
ATTENTION TO DETAIL
Meet the Team

Jerrell Sazama
Jerrell founded Hollow Roads Diesel in October 2021 with a clear mission: to provide top-tier heavy diesel repair with a focus on quality, integrity, and long-term reliability. After spending 15 years in the dealership world, he knew there was a better way to serve drivers and fleets—one that prioritized both expert craftsmanship and honest customer service.

Jerrell holds certifications with Cummins (medium & heavy), CAT (heavy), Paccar engine and chassis, Eaton, and EPA 609. Known for his meticulous approach and commitment to using only quality parts, Jerrell is driven by a belief that the job isn’t done until it’s done right.

As both a technician and business owner, Jerrell leads by example—prioritizing completeness in repairs and fostering a shop culture built around trust, communication, and getting trucks back on the road safely and efficiently.
When he’s not turning wrenches or managing the shop, you’ll likely find Jerrell on his beef farm with his two young boys, putting his John Deere tractors to good use. His time in the field keeps him grounded and reminds him why reliable equipment—and reliable repairs—matter so much.

Shawn
With over 18 years of experience in the heavy diesel industry, Shawn brings a wealth of knowledge and precision to the Hollow Roads Diesel team. He joined us in June 2024 and has quickly become a go-to technician for both complex diagnostics and detailed inspections.

Shawn holds certifications with Cummins (medium and heavy), Paccar engine and chassis, Eaton, Detroit, EPA 609 and he’s known for his sharp eye when it comes to evaluating trucks from bumper to bumper. His expertise isn’t limited to engines—Shawn is also an exceptional fabricator. Whether he’s tracking down a tricky electrical issue or making sure a rig is road-ready, Shawn brings thoroughness, integrity, and a deep understanding for the importance of communication. Outside the shop, Shawn enjoys camping and working on his classic Power Wagon.

Kayla
Kayla joined Hollow Roads Diesel full-time in July 2023, bringing with her 15 years of experience in the animal health sales industry and a strong knack for organization, leadership, and multitasking.
As co-owner and the force behind the administrative side of the business, Kayla handles everything from inventory control and payroll to bookkeeping, returns, and shop logistics. She played a big role in planning Hollow Roads Diesel’s recent expansion, balancing big-picture vision with day-to-day execution.

Beyond the shop, Kayla also manages the couple’s beef farm and oversees a vacation rental on the property, proving there’s no task too big—or too varied—for her to tackle. She also finds joy in teaching their two boys the value of a hard day’s work and having fun camping with her family whenever possible.

Driven by a passion for building something meaningful alongside her husband Jerrell, Kayla is the backbone of Hollow Roads Diesel’s operations, helping ensure things run smoothly behind the scenes so the team can focus on what they do best: keeping trucks rolling.

Cody
Cody joined Hollow Roads Diesel in November 2024, bringing with him 12 years of mechanic experience and a strong commitment to quality and teamwork. A native of Boscobel, Cody’s journey in the mechanical world began in the U.S. Army, where he served with the 23rd Infantry Battalion as a generator mechanic. His military career took him across the globe, with assignments in Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and the Philippines, where he honed his technical skills and built the foundation for his future in diesel repair.

Cody’s positive demeanor and eagerness to put out quality work make him a valued part of the Hollow Roads Diesel team. When he’s not in the shop, Cody stays busy at the La Riviere Horse Park, where he serves as Vice President of the Board and takes pride in being the group’s unofficial jack of all trades.
